Abstraction as compression
Compression is not a by-product of intelligence but a precondition for it: naming a thing frees the capacity that would have gone on perceiving it, and that freed capacity is where the next layer of thought happens. Not yet written up.
This one is a seed — a placeholder for a thought that has not been written yet. It exists because a sentence in another thought needed to point at it.
